What
Are They? Team
Challenges are held primarily on weekday holidays, when few players are
committed to leagues and other events: July 4, Labor Day, and Columbus
Day. Others might be scheduled as interest dictates. Players sign up,
and are assigned to one of two even teams by Russ Carrington. Each player
gets several shorter matches, usually doubles but some singles, and tries
to earn points for his/her team. The team with the most points is declared
the winner.
Who
are They For? Team
Challenges are primarily for members of the club, for whom there is no
charge. Nonmembers occasionally are invited to participate to help create
even teams ($5 guest fee).
