2011 BRETON BAY OPEN ADULT TENNIS TOURNAMENT OFFICIAL NOTICE
WHEN
IS IT? Saturday, May 28 - Monday, May 30. Matches could be scheduled
any time between 8AM and dark. Doubles normally begin on Sunday, but if
there are extra rounds these might have to occur on Saturday. Due to possibility
of weather issues, please do not request special start times.
WHO
IS IT FOR? The
tournament is open to all club members and non-members. USTA membership
is not required. Experienced high school players in the 3.0 level and
above may also enter.
EVENTS: Men's
Singles, Men's B Singles, Men's Doubles, Men's B Doubles Mixed Doubles,
B Mixed Doubles
Women's Singles, Women's B Singles, Women's Doubles, Womens B Doubles
B events
are for players in the 3.0 - 3.5 range. B Mixed Doubles teams may not
have a combined rating higher than 7.0. Events for which there are insufficient
entries might be cancelled. Events in which there is sufficient interest
(such as 2.5 level) might be added.
MATCH
FORMAT: Best
of three sets, ad scoring, tiebreaker to seven points. This format may
be shortened at the Tournament Director's discretion.
SWIMMING
PRIVILEGES: Participants
and their immediate family members may use the pool the entire weekend
without charge. A sign-in sheet will be available at the front desk.
CONSOLATION
MATCHES: First
round losers withing more tennis may request a consolation match. These
will be provided, court space permitting.
TROPHIES: Trophies
are awarded to the winners and runners-up in each event. If an event was
cancelled previous year due to insufficient entries, trophies might not
be available but event would be discounted.
REGISTRATION
PROCEDURE: To register, a hard copy of your registration form
plus fee must be received no later than 9PM on the Wednesday prior to
tournament. If not in mail by Monday, hand delivery is strongly recommended.
Draw will be made sometime after 9PM on Wednesday, at which point no new
entries will be allowed. Partipants will be called by Friday evening with
their start times.
